alieniconCraigslegz Travels’ official mascot is the Travel Alien BeBop, one of the three-eyed aliens that appeared in the Toy Story films, because we are all aliens when we travel.

He may pop up anywhere, much like Travelocity’s Roaming Gnome. Check back to see where he shows up next.

The Travelocity gnome was inspired by the traveling gnome prank. Someone’s garden gnome was stolen. Soon they began receiving photos from the thief of the gnome in various locations.

Others have adopted the practice of taking photos of a vagabond character to document their own travels.

Once while enjoying the view from an isolated cliff in Maine, two women arrived with the same gnome Travelocity uses and photographed him perched on the ledge. They said they had photos of him taken throughout the United States and Europe.

“He’s been to Alaska, but not to Nome,” one of them said.

BeBop has been to Rome . (Visual evidence below.)

As for the Travelocity gnome, he has his own Twitter page to track his whereabouts. Follow him at RoamingGnome@Twitter.com.
